Hey fam, it’s BlovesLife here, and let me tell you—this past week? A dream. I just stepped off the Icon of the Seas, and y’all... this wasn’t just a cruise. It was a chapter in our love story, wrapped in ocean breezes, world-class cuisine, and unforgettable moments.
Icon of the Seas – A City That Sails
From the moment we boarded, the sheer scale of the ship took my breath away. Icon is more than just the largest cruise ship on Earth—it’s a self-contained wonder. Think luxury resort meets futuristic city, except this one floats on water. Honestly, I kept forgetting we were at sea—it’s that smooth, that massive, and that magical.
Our Junior Suite – Floating Luxury on Deck 10
We stayed in a Junior Suite, and baby, it was pure elegance. From the rainfall shower and soaking tub to the rotating smart TV and private balcony with endless ocean views, every detail felt like a warm hug from the universe. With smart lighting and high-tech climate controls, this room wasn’t just a stay—it was an experience.
Food That Tells a Story
🌍 Windjammer Buffet
Casual, consistent, and completely satisfying. Whether you wanted sushi, tacos, fresh fruit, or hearty comfort food, Windjammer had you. It’s your everyday go-to, and it delivers.
🍷 Empire Supper Club – The Crown Jewel
Let me pause here. If you only splurge once, make it here. Eight luxurious courses, each one paired with wine or a custom cocktail. Picture this: caviar, rabbit, velvety sauces, and Moët champagne served with a side of live music tailored to the flavors of each dish. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here—and it was transcendent. A full-body, sensory memory I’ll never forget.
🍝 Specialty Dining – Italian & Chops Grill
Both offered great ambiance and flavor, but after Empire, they were like backup singers to the star of the show. Worth trying, but temper expectations if you've already tasted the best.
🦐 Hooked Seafood
I wanted to love it. While the food was fine, I expected a full-blown seafood buffet and was let down by the à la carte setup. Probably wouldn’t book again.

Relaxation That Reaches the Soul
💆🏽 Vitality Spa
We treated ourselves to two couple’s massages—70 minutes and 100 minutes. Both were deeply restorative. The spa’s atmosphere? Gentle lighting, soft scents, calming sounds. It was peace, bottled and poured over our tired bodies.
Entertainment That Rivals Broadway
💦 Aqua Show
Stunning. Simply stunning. Water, light, and human grace fused into a show that made my jaw drop. It’s Cirque du Soleil... on the ocean.
🧙🏽♀️ The Wizard of Oz
Broadway-level talent and effects that blew our minds—especially the mid-crowd magic tricks. Theater on a ship? They did that.
🍳 Live Cooking Battles at Absolute Zero
A deliciously fun surprise. Chefs battled it out live, and a few lucky guests even got to judge. It brought out my inner foodie and game show contestant.
🎤 Nightly Music & Dance
Every night, a new act: Latin rhythms, Motown vibes, contemporary grooves. Light shows, killer vocals, and dance moves that made you wanna move too.
Nature in the Middle of the Sea – Central Park
Yes, it’s real. A garden with live plants, trees, birdsong, and soft-lit cafés. Central Park was a quiet oasis—perfect for a romantic stroll or solo meditation. You almost forget the ocean is just beyond the railings.
Our Ports of Call – Little Windows Into Culture
-
Cozumel, Mexico – Vibrant shops, colorful crafts, and panoramic views that made my heart swell.
-
Roatán, Honduras – Culture, flavor, and warm smiles everywhere.
-
Puerto Costa Maya – Excursions galore and shopping that feeds the soul (and suitcase).
-
CocoCay, Bahamas – We almost swam with pigs, but opted out due to hygiene concerns. Still, the island is a slice of paradise.

Icon of the Seas isn’t just about size. It’s about soul. From the food to the entertainment, from spa days to sea views, this ship gave Nate and me one of the most meaningful weeks of our 25 years together.
If you’re on the fence about cruising—jump. And if you do, choose Icon. And whatever you do, don’t skip Empire Supper Club.
