Hey everyone! Today was one of those days where everything didn’t go as planned—but in the end, it all worked out beautifully.
We hit the road to Columbus, Ohio, for a brunch party that Tasha was hosting in honor of Fallon’s birthday. Originally, we planned to switch cars, but I accidentally left the keys at home, which threw everything off. We had to stop by the warehouse too, so all in all, we ended up running about an hour and twenty minutes behind schedule. I felt awful, but when I called Tasha to let her know, she was so gracious. “Just get here when you can,” she said with calm and kindness. That kind of flexibility in friends? Priceless.

On the way, I was a little irritated about a YouTube video I had posted earlier in the day. It had originally cleared for monetization, but then out of nowhere—bam!—a copyright claim. I had to set it to private. The content creator hustle is real, y’all. But that’s a battle for another day.
Once we arrived, everything shifted. The atmosphere at the brunch was warm, vibrant, and filled with joy. Fallon’s celebration was more than just a birthday—it felt like a deep, heartfelt gathering of people who truly love and uplift one another. We toasted to her “40 and a little bit” milestone, and Nate, ever the gentleman, called her “a beautiful queen”—then laughed and apologized, knowing Fallon’s not exactly a fan of the term.
Fallon gave a moving thank-you speech that really stuck with me. She acknowledged how much effort Tasha had put into organizing the event despite just moving into a new place. She also thanked her mother and her lifelong friend Monetta with genuine emotion in her voice. You could feel the gratitude radiating from her.
Later, we shared some drinks, and let me tell you—one of those shots had a spicy kick that caught me completely off guard! That burn in my chest was real. Someone nearby wisely told me, “Just don’t inhale when you drink it.” And honestly? That tip worked like magic.
As the evening flowed on, the energy stayed high. Music played, people danced, laughter echoed through the room. Fallon looked absolutely stunning—glowing with both outer beauty and inner peace. Compliments poured in: “You’re so sweet,” “You’re glowing,” and my favorite, “You have a beautiful spirit. Your heart is so pure, and I’m genuinely thankful to know you.”
When we all sang “Happy Birthday,” Fallon offered one final message that gave me chills. She said,
“I’m truly grateful and blessed. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t recognize the life I’ve been given and the people who’ve come into it. I wished for every one of you to be part of my life, and I’m so thankful you took the time to come out and celebrate with me. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
The next morning, I felt light and full. We spent time with such good-hearted souls—Tasha, Fallon, her sweet mom, Monetta, Monae, and Rhonda. It was one of those moments you just want to bottle up and keep forever. Real joy. Real connection.
Now that Fallon and Tasha are living in Ohio—just a little over an hour away—I know this is only the beginning of more good times. And I’m all in for continuing to nurture this bond. Sometimes, all it takes is a short road trip and a room full of love to remind you of what really matters.
Here’s to more weekends like this. 💛
