When My Mom Heard Me Sing
Hey y’all! So today, while I was sitting here enjoying this amazing crab, I suddenly remembered a hilarious and unforgettable moment with my mom. You know how sometimes something happens and you realize you definitely shouldn’t be doing a certain thing? Well… for me, that thing is SINGING!

How It All Started
It all began when I was trying to tell my mom about Jesse Powell — an incredibly talented artist who passed away. I wanted her to know exactly who I was talking about, so I thought, “Oh! Let me sing part of his famous song so she’ll remember!” Sounds like a good idea, right?
So I started singing. Y’all, let me tell you — I sang with all my heart, all my emotions, trying my best to deliver the melody the way I thought it sounded. I really believed I was doing a good job! I felt like I was connecting to the song… connecting to the memories of the artist…

My Mom’s Reaction — Unforgettable!
But guess what my mom said? She looked me straight in the eyes and said:
“Don’t ever do that again.”
Umm… yeah. Not the reaction I was expecting!
Then she added, “You need to pull up the original video of that song right now!” She said I had “ruined” the song — AND ruined the memory of the artist while people were trying to pay tribute to him!
Lord have mercy! I know I can’t sing, but was it THAT bad?

My Thoughts After That
Y’all, that moment really hit me. I realized just how BAD I must have sounded. I’m the kind of girl who loves to sing along, loves to express myself through music — but clearly vocal talent is NOT my gift!
And now every time I want to sing something in a video, I get nervous. Not just because of what my mom said… but because I’m scared of COPYRIGHT issues! Isn’t that ironic? I sing so BAD it sounds nothing like the original, but I still gotta worry about copyright!

The Lesson Learned
But you know what? I love moments like this with my mom. She is always honest — brutally honest — but honest with love. When you do something terrible, your family will let you know. And that is REAL love.
I even told y’all in the video: I don’t know why YouTube is worried about copyright when somebody sings like me. I mean, I don’t sound ANYTHING like the original! I’m creating a whole… different version (to put it nicely).

In Conclusion
At the end of the day, this story reminds me that we all have our own talents. Mine is eating good food and sharing real, raw moments with y’all. Singing? Yeah… I’ll leave that to the professionals!
Mom, I’m sorry you had to listen to my “unique” vocals that day. But hey — at least we got a funny memory out of it!

And y’all, if someone ever tells you to stop singing — don’t be sad! Just find what you’re truly good at and shine there. For me, that’s enjoying this seafood and bringing y’all some joy!
BLove — peace out! 💕
