I Couldn't Believe My Eyes When I Opened the Fridge…

Hey y’all! I just had to jump on here and share a little slice of real life that had me cracking up—because sometimes, it’s the smallest things that remind us life doesn’t always follow the rules... and that’s not always a bad thing!

So, here’s what went down: in our house, we’re pretty set when it comes to food storage. We’ve got a regular refrigerator in the kitchen and two big freezers out in the garage. You’d think that would make things smooth and simple, right? Well… not exactly.

The other day, I noticed something strange happening. My fridge—yes, the refrigerator, not the freezer—decided to go rogue and start freezing everything. I’m talking lettuce, leftovers, juice boxes… even things that had no business being frozen were coming out like little ice sculptures!

It got even funnier when I tried to thaw some pork. I placed it in the fridge overnight, expecting it to be nice and ready the next day. But nope. That thing came out just as frozen as when it went in. I was like, “Wait a minute, did I accidentally put it back in the garage freezer?” But no—I double checked. It was the fridge. Just doing the most.

My husband stepped in and tried adjusting the temperature settings, thinking maybe we bumped something by accident. Still no luck. He suggested that because the weather outside has been so cold lately, it might actually be messing with the fridge’s system. Now, I’m no appliance expert, but the idea that it’s too cold for the fridge to function normally? That’s a new one for me!

But instead of getting annoyed or stressing out, I chose to just laugh. I mean, really—how can you be mad at a fridge that’s just trying a little too hard? It reminded me that sometimes in life, we have to roll with the unexpected. Whether it’s a refrigerator freezing your dinner or plans not turning out how you imagined, the best thing you can do is find the humor and keep moving forward.

And honestly, that’s part of why I love sharing these kinds of stories. Sure, my videos are full of food, flavor, and fun—but they’re also about real life. The little hiccups. The surprises. The moments that make you pause and say, “Only I would have something like this happen!” But you know what? I don’t think I’m the only one. I think someone out there is going to read this and say, “Girl, that happened to me too!”

Because life isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection. It’s about finding joy in the ordinary, laughing through the mishaps, and remembering that even when things freeze up—literally or figuratively—we still have the power to warm it all back up with a good attitude and a grateful heart.

So the next time your fridge gets a little too “enthusiastic,” just know you’re not alone. And if your pork won’t thaw? Go ahead and laugh—because stories like these are too good not to share. 💛
