Vegan Chicken Wings Recipe: Perfect for Your Next Super Bowl Party

Vegan Chicken Wings Recipe: Perfect for Your Next Super Bowl Party

Hi everyone! Today, I’m so excited to share a recipe for vegan chicken wings that I just made.
To pair with the wings, I have salt and vinegar pickles, cucumbers, jalapeños, and blue cheese sauce. This would make an amazing meal to enjoy during the upcoming Super Bowl! I ordered these vegan wings from a supplier that specializes in restaurant-quality products. You can either fry them or air-fry them like I did.

What’s incredible is how much they look and taste like real chicken wings. They’re made from soy but have a texture that mimics real meat so well. I’ll guide you through the process of making these and let you know where I ordered them from.
Since transitioning to a plant-based diet, my health has improved significantly. I sleep better, and my digestion has become more regular. I’ve been eating lots of veggies, quinoa, and salads. At first, I thought vegan food would be boring, but it’s far from it once you learn how to mix and match various ingredients.
People often ask if I’m fully vegan. While I don’t consider myself 100% vegan, I eat plant-based mainly for health reasons, not for animal rights. Surprisingly, even though I used to love meat, I don’t crave it anymore. There are so many delicious plant-based dishes you can make with tofu, tempeh, lentils, and more. Many restaurants now offer a variety of vegan-friendly options too.
Ingredients:
•    Pre-packaged vegan drumsticks (mine have sugarcane “bones” and are from a restaurant supplier)
•    2 tbsp avocado oil
•    Chinese five spice
•    Smoked paprika
•    Veggie roaster seasoning (a mix with balsamic vinegar and roasted onion flavors)
•    Black pepper
•    Cayenne pepper
•    Lemon pepper
•    Iodized salt (just a small amount for its health benefits)
•    All-purpose seasoning (a gift from a company that includes garlic powder, onion powder, Mediterranean sea salt, black pepper, chili powder, parsley, and white pepper)
Instructions:
1.    Start by coating the vegan wings with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil. This helps the seasoning stick evenly.
2.    Add the following seasonings in order:
o    Sprinkle Chinese five spice
o    Add smoked paprika
o    Sprinkle veggie roaster seasoning
o    Add black pepper
o    Sprinkle cayenne pepper for some heat
o    Add lemon pepper
o    Sprinkle a touch of iodized salt
o    Finish with a bit of all-purpose seasoning
3.    Mix everything thoroughly using one hand (I wore a glove).
4.    Place the wings in the air fryer:
o    Set the temperature to 370°F (188°C).
o    Initially, I planned to cook them for 15 minutes, but I ended up air-frying them for a total of 22 minutes to achieve the perfect crispiness.

The Results:
The vegan wings turned out beautifully golden and crispy on the outside, with a delicious aroma. They pair wonderfully with blue cheese dipping sauce, cucumbers, and jalapeños. I also love adding Tabasco for an extra spicy kick!
Tips: If you prefer frying instead of air-frying, that works too!
If you’re thinking about switching to a plant-based diet, I recommend doing some research and preparing yourself with plenty of options. I’ve invested in vegan cookbooks, seasonings, a dehydrator for making kale chips, and even a popcorn maker. When traveling, I pack dried fruits and veggies to maintain my diet on the go.
Although I haven’t been working out much lately due to the cold weather, I plan to hit the gym soon to regain muscle in my legs and core. My current weight is stable at 126-127 pounds.
