Lime Chili Shrimp Tacos

Happy Taco Tuesday! We have tacos every week in our house in some shape or form. I’m pretty sure my husband also eats tacos almost every single day. Needless to say, we love tacos around here. We’re always changing it up with different meats, sauces, and styles. This week, I opted to make some Chili Lime Shrimp Tacos for lunch. It only takes a brief marinade and less than 10 minutes to have these crazy good tacos on your plate.

Chili Lime Shrimp Recipe Tips, Tricks, and FAQs

  • My favorite way to heat the corn tortillas is over the open flame of my stove, flipping constantly. This isn’t necessary, but I love the flavor. You can also heat them in a dry pan over medium-high heat.
  • Be sure not to leave your shrimp in the marinade for too long. The lime juice will actually begin to cook your shrimp.
Are shrimp tacos better on corn or flour tortillas?

Shrimp tacos are great on both corn and flour tortillas. I prefer them with a toasted corn tortilla.

What is the best kind of shrimp to use for Shrimp Tacos? Can frozen shrimp be used for this recipe?

Large or jumbo shrimp work best for shrimp tacos. You can use frozen shrimp for this recipe, just be sure to thaw them completely first.

How much shrimp do you need per person for tacos?

I recommend 1/4lb of shrimp per person for tacos.

What is a good side for Shrimp Tacos?

Shrimp tacos go great with beans, rice, and a side salad.

Can you make Chili Lime Tacos with Shrimp ahead of time?

I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m not a fan of reheated shrimp because it over cooks so easily. It only takes about 10 minutes from start to finish, so I’d recommend making them right before you plan to eat them.

Storing and Reheating Shrimp Tacos

Leftover shrimp tacos should be cooled completely. Once cooled, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a skillet over medium heat just until heated through.
