Finding Peace and Healing in the Simple Ritual of a Hot Bath

In the rush of everyday life, with constant pressure and never-ending responsibilities, I have often felt completely drained. But over time, I’ve learned something incredibly important: loving yourself isn’t indulgence – it’s a way to restore your energy and continue showing up fully in every role you play. And one of the ways I’ve come to deeply appreciate and enjoy doing that is by taking a hot bath.

If you’ve been following my YouTube channel, you probably remember when I shared the special space that Nate and I created in our new home – our bathroom. But this isn’t just any bathroom. It’s a sacred space where I can fully unwind, rest, reflect, and heal. We designed it with care: a deep soaking tub, soft warm lights, bath salts, essential oils, scented candles, and even a small speaker that plays my favorite calming music. Every detail was chosen with one purpose in mind – to help me find peace and reconnect with myself in a chaotic world.

To me, a hot bath is more than just cleansing. It’s a powerful therapy for the soul. After a long day filming vlogs, editing, handling business, and taking care of my family, stepping into that warm water melts away the tension. The steam helps relax my muscles, ease the aches and pains in my back, shoulders, and neck – especially after sitting or stressing for hours. It also boosts circulation, and I’ve noticed my skin becomes softer and absorbs moisture better after a bath. Most importantly, it helps me sleep better – no more tossing and turning through the night.

Sometimes I add a few drops of lavender or sweet orange essential oil to the tub. Other times, I’ll play some soft jazz, or just sit quietly and listen to the sound of the water and my own heartbeat slowing down. These baths don’t take long – maybe 20 or 30 minutes – but that time belongs completely to me.

One thing I used to think was that creating a space like this was a luxury I didn’t need. But now I know: investing in yourself is never a waste. Even if you don’t have a big tub, you can still create your own healing ritual with a warm shower, a few dried flower petals, your favorite playlist, or just some candlelight – simple touches that bring you back to yourself.
