Hey y’all, it’s Miriam 👋! Today I’m throwing down in the kitchen with a seafood boil for my baby. Now let me tell you something right off the bat: there is no right or wrong way to make a seafood boil. Don’t let nobody tell you how to cook your food! If it tastes good to you and your family, then that’s all that matters.
But if you’re curious about how I do mine, here’s my way – and it’s full of flavor!

- 7.5 Quart Cast Iron Dutch Oven: https://amzn.to/4dcUqms
- Lodge Pre-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet: https://amzn.to/3TyyMSA
- Bamboo Seasonings Box with Mini Spoon: https://amzn.to/4dfHzA6
Ingredients:
-
1.5 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp
-
2 lbs king crab legs
-
4 lobster tails
-
Baby potatoes or chopped regular potatoes
-
Corn on the cob (cut into chunks)
-
Smoked turkey sausage or your favorite kind
-
2–3 boiled eggs
-
½ medium onion
-
Juice from a few lemons (or lime juice if you run out)
-
½ bottle of minced garlic
-
6 oz of water (about ¾ cup)
Seasonings:
-
No-salt seasoning
-
Garlic powder
-
Onion powder
-
Paprika
-
Lemon pepper
-
Italian seasoning
-
Bay leaves
-
Chicken bouillon
-
Shrimp bouillon
-
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
-
A little sugar
How to Make It:
Step 1: Make the flavorful butter sauce
-
In a large pot, melt two sticks of butter.
-
Add your seasonings: no-salt seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, lemon pepper, Italian seasoning, chicken bouillon, shrimp bouillon, and red pepper flakes.
-
Stir in the chopped onion, minced garlic, and about 6 oz of water.
-
Squeeze in fresh lemon juice (or lime juice if you’re out of lemons).
-
Add a little sugar to balance everything out.
-
Let it simmer on medium heat until your onions get nice and tender – just the way you like.
Step 2: Add veggies and sausage
-
Drop in the potatoes and corn first.
-
Then add your smoked sausage and boiled eggs.
-
Let it cook for about 7–8 minutes.
-
Miriam’s tip: After about 3 minutes, I like to take the sausage out, pan-sear it real quick for that nice crisp on the outside, then toss it back in. Flavor for days!
Step 3: Add your seafood
-
Now go in with the lobster tails – let those cook for 3–4 minutes.
-
Then add your king crab and shrimp.
- Shrimp only need about 3 minutes – and don’t overcook the crab either.
Let’s eat!
Now mix everything up in that pot, serve it on a tray or some parchment paper – however you like. And don’t forget to dip it in that bomb butter sauce!
“I’m over here sweating, y’all, but I’m still going! It’s just too good!”
-
The potatoes got a little soft 'cause I cooked them a bit too long – but flavor? Still on point!
-
That corn is sweet-sweet, shrimp juicy, sausage packed with flavor…
-
And them lobster tails? Baby… the real star of the show!
So… who’s coming over? I still got my gloves on, ready to serve!
This seafood boil is perfect for Memorial Day, or any day really – y’all HAVE to try this!
