Hey y'all! Bloveslife here! Today I'm spilling the tea on how Darius and I handle those online haters and why I always check profiles before responding to negative comments!
That Video Drama
So we were talking about this video Darius posted that got some heat in the comments. I was telling him, "You were cussing too much in that video! I couldn't get past the beginning." He tried to defend himself saying, "But what did I say at the end?"
I had to remind him - "You said 'I really don't GF' and that's why that lady was commenting!" The video definitely had some colorful language, but that's just how conversations flow sometimes!
My Twitter Clapback Strategy
What's really funny is that we were having this conversation in the same parking lot where I previously talked to Nicole about how I handle Twitter beef! Darius was surprised at how quickly I respond to negative comments online.
"I can eat you up in 140 characters," I told him. "You know what's really funny? The last time I said that, I was in this exact parking lot with Nicole having a conversation about eating people up on Twitter!"
Why I Always Check Profiles
Here's my secret weapon when dealing with online trolls - I ALWAYS check their profile before responding! Darius called me out on this: "Every time somebody comments on your TikTok, you're trying to look at their profile pic, then you go in!"
I had to explain my logic: "I don't understand the audacity that some people have! I wish I had that level of confidence. So when I go to their profile, I'm trying to find where they're keeping all that audacity - why are they so bold?"
It's like detective work! I'm checking to see if they have anything to back up their criticism. "If they're giving me everything they're asking for, then maybe they do have the right to that audacity. But when you can't find the reason for the audacity, and they look crazy themselves, and they're talking about someone else's appearance..."
The Clearance Section Critics
You wouldn't believe some of these people! "They say something I'm wearing is ugly, then I go to their page and see they got their stuff from the clearance section at Myers!" At that point, I really don't want to hear their opinion!
The funniest comment I get is, "Oh from Seafood blog to TikTok shop!" I always have to reserve what I really want to say because I try to be respectful, even when others aren't.
Hidden Behind Screens
What's crazy is how many people hide behind anonymity online. They'll say whatever they want without showing their face or using their real name. It's way too easy to be reckless when nobody knows who you are!
Despite all the drama, I still try to come with logic and facts in my responses. Sometimes it's just my personal opinion, but most of the time, I'm keeping it factual! I don't know why everyone else doesn't get on the same page!
Dealing with online comments is part of content creation life. Yes, it can be frustrating, but I've learned to handle it with a mix of sass, facts, and a little profile investigation! That's just how we roll in 2025!
