My Routine Check-Up Revealed the Truth That Forced Me to Face My Greatest Fear

My Routine Check-Up Revealed the Truth That Forced Me to Face My Greatest Fear

today, and I want to take the time to go a little deeper because sometimes it’s the everyday moments that remind us about health, resilience, and the importance of being transparent with each other.

Earlier, I went to see my doctor for a routine check-up and had some blood work done. My blood pressure came back at 102/80, which I’m thankful for—it’s within a healthy range. During the visit, my new doctor also suggested I complete a stool test to see if a colonoscopy might be necessary in the future. To be honest, the idea makes me a little uneasy. I’ve heard about the liquid diet and the camera used for the procedure, and it’s not something anyone looks forward to. Still, I know preventive care is important, so I’m trying to approach it with an open mind. The doctor also prescribed lotion to help with my dry skin, which has been bothering me for a while. After the appointment, I decided to stop by Waffle House, a place I often go when I just need a moment to sit, reflect, and enjoy a simple meal.

While I was there, I found myself thinking about what it means to share parts of your life openly. I’ve never been the type to broadcast every detail or live in complete transparency. Instead, I choose to talk about what feels relevant, meaningful, or what I’m personally reflecting on. But even with that, there are times when people misunderstand my words or assume the worst. That’s something I’ve had to learn to accept, because sharing honestly always comes with both support and criticism.

For example, I once brought up the situation between James Wright and Tamar Braxton. Tamar had invited the singer Chris on stage, and things quickly went wrong when Chris acted out of line and ended up physically attacking James. That left James with a broken tooth and a bloody nose, a situation no one should have to experience. I didn’t share that story to stir negativity—I shared it because it was something that had unfolded publicly, and it made me reflect on how quickly situations can shift and how people in the spotlight often face intense challenges that the public doesn’t always see.

Another story that stayed with me was from Keke Wyatt’s reality show. What I admire most about her is how real and unfiltered she is when sharing her struggles. Her journey hasn’t been easy, especially with her son, who was born with developmental issues and at one point wasn’t breathing for twenty minutes. Just imagining the strength it takes to endure moments like that leaves me in awe. Watching Keke push through such hardship while still standing strong as a mother and artist is a reminder of what true resilience looks like.

At the end of the day, I share because I hope someone out there can take away a little encouragement, a reminder that we all go through trials, and that even when things feel uncertain, there’s always a way to keep moving forward. Sending love to all of you, and until next time, take care and keep pushing through whatever life puts in front of you.
