My Son Does My Makeup

My Son Does My Makeup

Hey my lovely people! Today I’ve got a very special video for you — one that so many of you have been requesting for a long time. Instead of doing my own makeup like I usually do, my son Darius is going to “beat my face” today. And this right here is the final result! I have to say... I’m kind of impressed — or at least, I’m trying to convince myself that I am!

Concept: Galaxy Look – The Visitor from Outer Space
The look Darius wanted to create for me today is a galaxy look — as if I just arrived on Earth from a distant galaxy saying, “Hi, I’m new here!” That’s actually the same energy I give when I take photos and do my signature smize — that soft smile with the eyes that says, “What’s your name?” Today’s goal: smoky eyes, sharp eyeliner, and seductive lips. Well... at least that’s the plan!

A Quick Note Before We Start
Before diving in, let me apologize if I sound a bit unclear today. I just got braces about a week ago, so I’m still adjusting. This is actually my first video since getting them, so bear with me, y’all!

Today, I’m putting my whole face in Darius’s hands. I’ve laid out all the makeup for him — now all I have to do is sit still and hope I don’t end up looking like a total hot mess. Maybe next time I’ll let my husband or my oldest son, Zeti, do my makeup too. Let’s see if they’ve actually been paying attention to what I do in front of the mirror!

Eyebrows – “The Gateway to the Soul”
Darius started with my eyebrows, saying, “Eyebrows are the gateway to the soul.” Pretty deep, right? He brushed them neatly so they’d stay in line. He chose a dark brown shade because, according to him, it looks more natural and less “crazy.” At least, that’s what he hoped.

He taught me a new technique called “stipple” — gently dotting to make it look realistic so nobody can tell you drew in your brows that morning. While working on both sides, he reminded me: “They’re sisters, not twins, mom!” Which is so true — no one’s eyebrows are perfectly identical!

Concealer – The Art of “Hugging the Line”
Next up, concealer. Darius used LA Girl Pro Conceal HD in shade GC9 Cool Tan. He even joked about doing Rihanna’s makeup once — in his imagination, of course! He mixed shades to match my tone, explaining that the key is to “hug the line” — not a soft hug, but a tight, precise one right along the brow edge.

He blended it out with a beauty blender, and that’s when things started coming together. I couldn’t see it yet, but he swore it looked amazing. I just hoped he wasn’t lying to his mama!

Foundation – The 3:1 Ratio and the Science of Blending
When it came to foundation, Darius mixed different products in a 3:1 ratio — comparing it to mixing ketchup and Tabasco: “A little goes a long way!” He carefully applied it all over my face, saying, “She’s gonna be on fleek!”

He made sure every little corner of my “moon surface” was covered. I saw him switching from a brush to a beauty blender, fully in his zone. When I asked if he needed more foundation, he said confidently, “You don’t need it, you ain’t doing it!” So I just sat back and let the artist work.

The Eyes – The Ultimate Challenge
Now for the part everyone’s been waiting for — the eyes! Darius planned to give me a smoky, galaxy-inspired eye look. He asked what colors I liked, and I suggested a few from the palette.

“Close your eyes, mom. Both of them!” he said. He worked carefully on the crease, telling me this part takes patience or else I’d end up looking like “Lissandra.” (Whoever that is, I definitely didn’t want to look like her!)

His advice: “Start low. Don’t go too high, or you’ll look like a clown!” I silently prayed it wasn’t already too late. He layered orange and blue shades for a futuristic vibe, and as he blended, he proudly said, “This color mixture is just immaculate!”

He brightened my inner corners for highlight, saying, “You’re giving me futuristic vibes, mom!” I just hoped I didn’t actually look like an alien!

Eyeliner – The Scariest Part
Then came eyeliner — the part I was dreading most. “Darius, I promise you, I’m gonna knock you out if you poke me in the eye!” I warned him. Still, he pressed on confidently.

He lined both my upper and lower eyes — a bit too bold for my taste. I told him, “Darius, this is too much! I look like I got a black eye!” but he insisted, “You look fine, mom. This is how you get sharpness!”

He even used concealer to sharpen the wings. I had to admit — that was kind of smart.

Lashes, Highlight & Blush
Next, lashes! “Look up, mom!” he said, as he glued the falsies on. It wasn’t the most comfortable feeling, but once he added mascara to blend my real lashes with the fake ones, it started to look better.

Then came highlighter. “You want it on the high points of the cheekbones — blinding, but blended,” he explained. I noticed he skipped my Cupid’s bow, so I reminded him, and he quickly fixed it.

He dusted blush across my cheeks, saying, “I’m almost done, thank God!” and I couldn’t agree more.

Lips – The Galaxy Pink Choice
For the lips, Darius went with pink. “Pink? Won’t that make me look like a clown?” I asked. He replied, “We’re doing a galaxy look, mom. Pink makes sense!”

He used a gloss that one of my fans sent me (thank you!), then added a deeper pink-red lipstick for more coverage. “This’ll work!” he said confidently.

The Big Reveal – The Moment of Truth
“Mom, I’m not ready for the reveal!” I told him. But Darius was sure of himself: “You’re gonna be surprised, mom!”

When I looked in the mirror — oh my goodness! “Darius! What is this?!” My eyes were bold, shimmering in blue, orange, and silver — definitely futuristic and very galaxy!

“Look at this eyebrow, mom!” he said proudly, pointing at the better one. “The eyebrows were a flop but look at the rest!” He joked that I was giving off total 80s vibes — and honestly, with my hair, he wasn’t wrong.

Conclusion – A Fun and Unforgettable Experience
Even though it didn’t turn out exactly how I imagined (the eyeliner was a bit much, and the eyes were darker than I expected), this was truly a fun and memorable experience. Darius really gave it his all, and I have to admit — he’s learned a lot from watching me over the years.

“I guarantee my look’s the best out of everyone in the family!” Darius declared proudly. And honestly, he might be right!

When he zoomed the camera in, he narrated excitedly: “She’s giving me silver in the middle, orange, and blue on the outers!” He even directed me to pose: “Give me a damsel-in-distress look!” So I squinted, relaxed my jaw, and gave my best soft, dreamy stare.

Final Thoughts
It may not have been perfect, but I’m so proud of Darius. He dared to try something creative and made it his own. Makeup isn’t easy — especially when you’re doing it on someone else.

So, what do you all think of this galaxy look? Should I let Darius do my makeup more often? Or maybe let my husband or my oldest son have a turn next time? Let me know in the comments below!
