Hello everyone, today I want to share about my son Zaddy’s health situation and how we’re dealing with it.
That Terrifying Day
One morning, unlike any other, my son woke up with a strange sensation he described as “electric shocks running through his body.” He told me it felt like needles were pricking him all over, and his body was burning up. As a mother, hearing that made my heart stop.
I rushed him to the doctor right away. The test results came back, and the doctor said his blood pressure was high. Not high enough for medication yet, but it needed close monitoring. On top of that, his cholesterol levels were above normal.

Different Reactions
The doctor explained things calmly, saying it was just the early stage and that my son needed to make immediate lifestyle changes. But for me—as a mother—this was EXTREMELY SERIOUS.
My son, on the other hand, is a drama queen just like his dad. He acted as if he were dying, saying, “Mom, my body feels so strange,” then showing off his test results to everyone like he had just discovered something life-changing.
I had to say it straight: “You and your dad are the same. Get a little sick and suddenly it’s the end of the world. Men always complain the loudest when they’re sick.”
Taking Control of His Diet
So I made the decision—from now on, I’M taking full control of his diet. No more fried food, no more Hawaiian Punch, no more random snacking.
Yesterday we went grocery shopping, and I bought everything healthy my son had Googled: fresh cherries, pomegranate juice, salad, Honey Nut Cheerios, organic apples, dark chocolate, walnuts… and the bill was $330 for a cart that wasn’t even full!
My son sat there listing things off: “I need these cherries, that pomegranate juice, salad…” like he was some kind of nutrition expert. All I could do was shake my head and pay.
The Reality of Life
Today, during this mukbang video, he begged me for JUST one piece of fried chicken. I hesitated, but eventually gave in. The doctor did say “in moderation,” but for my son, moderation is a very confusing concept.
I’m trying to get him used to eating salad with ranch (he pours ranch like there’s no tomorrow), grilled chicken instead of fried, and most importantly, controlling his sugar and salt intake.
What Worries Me Most
Honestly, what worries me isn’t the money or the cooking—it’s that my son is having health problems at his age. What does that mean for his future?
He’s still young, with his whole life ahead of him. I want him to be healthy, to be able to do everything he loves without worrying about blood pressure or cholesterol.
The Plan Ahead
His dad is going to teach him how to meal prep and grill healthy food. We’ll be going to Costco for healthier groceries. And most importantly, I’ll continue to closely monitor his eating habits.
People may think I’m being strict, but it’s because I love my son. A mother will do whatever it takes to protect her child, even if he complains or calls her “controlling.”
