It’s Hard to Step Away from the Table
You know what? I’ve realized the more I want to lose those few pounds, the harder it gets. How do you even pull yourself away from the table? That’s my biggest question right now. Maybe I need to start juicing again.

About My Sweet Tooth
Speaking of cravings—honestly, I’m not a big sweets person. Only sometimes, you know… around that time of the month when everything’s out of balance. When I crave something sweet, it’s usually just gummy bears or chewing gum. I don’t care much for cakes or pastries—they’re just not my thing, except once in a while.
But let me tell you about my favorite kind of dessert—it’s gotta be from a restaurant. If you give me something like warm toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream on top—soft, warm, and creamy—or a buttery toffee or caramel cake with a scoop of ice cream? Oh honey, that’s it right there!
Usually, when we’re at a restaurant—me, Nate, and the boys—Darius and I share a dessert. He’ll ask, “Mom, wanna share with me?” and we’ll ask for two spoons. I’ll just take a bite or two. But if it’s one of those warm desserts with ice cream? Baby, nobody’s sharing that one! That one’s mine!
The Vacation Problem
Now that I’m about to go on vacation, I keep thinking, “Oh Lord, everything goes out the window when you’re on vacation.” Sorry, but I’m not compromising my joy. I just want to have fun and enjoy myself—I can’t be trying to follow somebody’s strict diet plan.
And honestly, I don’t even have a strict diet, y’all know that. But still, when I’m on vacation, I’m not gonna stress about it. I just can’t do that.
My Plan
I think I’ll start juicing again. And it’s not that bad—like I said, I’m not panicking or anything. I just want to drop five or six pounds, that’s it.
But y’all, those five or six pounds are not easy! Like I said—it’s not easy because you might lose it, but then it comes right back. So that’s not real weight loss—it’s just water weight. You know what I mean? It’s not fat loss, because you’re expecting overnight results, and that’s not how it works.
Losing six pounds takes time. If I can lose six pounds in a month, that’s good, because it means I’m doing it slowly and the right way. But with all these videos I’m doing? It’s not gonna happen! It’s not gonna happen, Captain! Between my ASMR videos and everything else, it’s just not realistic for me right now.
The Real Struggle
But I’ve been trying to stay active, y’all—moving, moving, moving! Doing stuff, staying busy. I don’t just sit around in this house. I’m up and down the stairs, going here and there, trying to keep my body moving.
That’s the thing—I think I’m just not as active as I used to be. Before COVID, I was always on the go. Now I find myself saying, “Oh, I just wanna watch…” Like right now, I’ve been watching 90 Day Fiancé—I’m going through season one, season two… you know what I mean?
And that’s how it happens—you get hooked, and next thing you know, you’re laying around. Another thing is, the later you stay up, the hungrier you get, because you’ve been awake too long. That’s not what you wanna do. You shouldn’t stay up all night, because when you do, you’re like, “Oh, I’m hungry.” But if you just go to bed, you won’t even think about eating!
So yeah, that’s pretty much what I’m dealing with right now. I’m just getting older, that’s all. And the weight doesn’t come off like it used to.
My Game Plan
I know some of y’all are probably gonna comment and roast me, but hey—it is what it is! I still love my food!
I think what I’ll do is try not to eat too much of certain things. You know how it is—chicken? I love chicken. Fried chicken all day, that’s my weakness. And of course, crab legs—I go hand in hand with crab legs. I love lobster too. But that’s actually the good part—when I eat crab legs, lobster, or seafood like that, I don’t gain weight at all!
That’s the thing—my body really agrees with seafood, fish, and all that. Grilled fish, red snapper—it all works great for me. My body digests it so well, and I don’t gain a thing from it. I don’t know why, but when I eat other stuff… whew, that’s a different story!
