Hey beautiful people!
Today, I’m opening up about something really close to my heart — a journey that was exciting, nerve-racking, empowering, and full of gratitude. I was recently invited to appear on the Tamron Hall Show in New York City, and I just knew I had to share every special moment with y’all. From packing my suitcase to stepping into the spotlight, this trip was a beautiful reminder of how far I’ve come and how much love I’ve received from you all.
The Night Before: Sleepless with Excitement and Nerves
Let me be real with you — I barely slept the night before my flight. I was up triple-checking my suitcase, making sure I had everything I needed. You ever have that feeling where even though you know you’ve packed everything, your mind just keeps racing like, “What if I forgot something important?” That was me! It wasn’t just about clothes or makeup. It was the feeling of stepping into something big — something meaningful.
There’s something about the night before a big trip that stirs up all kinds of emotions. You’re excited, you’re anxious, you’re hopeful. It’s like standing at the edge of a new chapter, and I felt all of that and more.

Touchdown in the City That Never Sleeps
My flight went smoothly — thank God! And as soon as we landed in New York, my heart started racing in the best way. I’ve been on TV before, but the Tamron Hall Show is on a whole different level. It felt like something sacred, something that deserved to be honored with every ounce of energy and preparation I had in me.
We were picked up at the airport and taken directly to our hotel. Driving through the busy streets of Manhattan, seeing the towering buildings and the rush of life outside the window — I felt so alive. Like I was exactly where I needed to be.
A Tiny Hotel with a Big Vibe
The hotel was small — which is typical for NYC — but it had such a cozy charm. There was this tiny mini fridge that was so adorable I literally wanted to pack it up and take it home! The view from our room wasn’t grand, but I could see the city pulsing below — taxis honking, people moving, life happening. It gave me that sense of “I’m really here.”
Even though I was tired, I had a video call with the show's production team to go over details for the taping. They were so warm, so welcoming — which helped ease my nerves a little bit. I knew the next day would be big.
Showtime: Deep Breaths and Big Smiles
The next morning came faster than I expected. The driver arrived right on time, and as we headed to the studio, I felt a quiet confidence settle in. I always say, “Once you’ve done something once, the next time is a little easier.” All those years of putting myself out there — on YouTube, on other shows — they prepared me for this moment.
When I arrived at the studio, I was greeted by the glam squad. I had already done my hair and makeup (y’all know I keep it simple but flawless), but it was so lovely to meet the stylist. She was a freelancer and this was her very first season working with the show — and let me tell you, she was a sweetheart! We bonded instantly.
The Moment I Met Tamron
Then came the moment I saw Tamron Hall — and let me tell you something: this woman is breathtaking in person! She has this radiant energy that fills the room. Her smile is magnetic and her style? Absolutely stunning. She was wearing a bold, colorful dress that someone jokingly compared to something out of Little Shop of Horrors, but I thought it suited her skin tone and personality perfectly.
The tech team worked quickly — attaching microphones, testing lights, and giving us last-minute directions. And before I knew it, the cameras were rolling.
On-Air and In the Flow
Filming the show felt magical. Tamron is a phenomenal host — truly gifted. She made me feel so comfortable, like I was just sitting down to talk with a good friend. There was no stiffness, no awkwardness. Just pure conversation, laughter, and realness.
My husband, though? Bless his heart — he was a little nervous! He kept looking at me instead of the camera, which made me smile inside. If you’ve ever been on a set before, you know those cameras and lights can be intimidating. You start thinking about who’s watching, what you’re saying, how you’re sitting — it’s a lot! But he did amazing.
After the Cameras Stopped Rolling
Once the taping ended, we both let out a big sigh of relief. My husband kept saying, “I should’ve said this, I should’ve said that,” but that’s totally normal. We always critique ourselves after the fact. I told him the most important thing is that we were authentic — and that’s what people connect with.
After being in this game for years, I’ve learned that you don’t need to be perfect — you just need to be real. Audiences know when you’re speaking from the heart, and that’s what I always strive to bring to any platform I’m on.
Gratitude, Love, and Looking Ahead
The episode is scheduled to air on January 22, and I’ll definitely be sharing all the details soon — what channel, what time, everything — so y’all can tune in and experience it with me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for walking this journey with me. From the late-night packing to the bright lights of the studio, every moment became more meaningful because I knew I had your love and support behind me.
Until the next adventure — stay inspired, stay kind, and stay YOU.
Love y’all so much!
With gratitude and love,
