I’d love to take a moment to share more details about our rooftop space and hot tub setup, especially since so many of you have been curious and asking about it lately. It’s one of our favorite spots in the house, and we’ve put a lot of thought into making it both beautiful and functional.
We actually built the rooftop area after purchasing our home—it wasn’t part of the original design. Since then, it has become a cozy retreat where we can relax and unwind. The seating arrangement includes two comfortable chairs, perfectly positioned around a unique center table. This table isn't just for placing drinks or snacks—it has a hidden feature that we absolutely love. Inside the table is a built-in ice compartment that can be lifted about 30 centimeters, revealing just enough space to chill a few bottles—perfect for wine, soda, or your favorite beverages during a relaxing evening outdoors.
To enhance the ambiance, my husband added soft lighting underneath the seating area. The glow adds a warm, inviting feel at night, and right now he’s also in the process of installing curtains around the space to create a bit more privacy. It’s all coming together beautifully.
As for our hot tub, we ordered it from Watson's of Cincinnati, and we couldn’t be happier with it. It comes with a Cavanagh-style canopy and a built-in LED lighting system that changes colors, adding a magical atmosphere when you’re soaking at night. One of the best parts is that it’s completely usable year-round—rain, snow, or shine—thanks to the covered roof. On days like today, when the temperature drops as low as -6°C, we can still enjoy a warm soak. Once the curtains are drawn, the heat is well-contained, and you don’t even feel the chill of the outside air.
