About My Job as a YouTuber
Hey y’all, I want to talk to you about this YouTuber life. A lot of people think it’s easy, but trust me—it’s not.
First of all, my husband and I run a company. Even though he’s the main manager, I still have to be involved in the business side of things. Plus, I work across several social media platforms. I’ve got Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube—that’s four platforms I have to post on, y’all!

Yes, I get paid on all of them, but it still takes a lot of work. It takes editing, it takes brainstorming content, it takes buying equipment for that content. It takes you being... well, fully involved in everything, all the time. And you have to work hard.
Anybody doing social media, anybody doing YouTube—you work extremely hard. I don’t care what people say. Folks be like, “Oh, all you do is eat.” Okay, but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes. And if it were that easy, you’d be doing what I do and making the same kind of money—and then you’d be like, “Wow!”

Now, yes, you do get paid well for this kind of work. But I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging, okay? What I’m trying to say is: this job is very rewarding. That’s it.
But that doesn’t mean I won’t complain when prices go up, y’all know what I mean? I love sales. I love catching a good deal. I love Prime Day—I want to go shopping when those days roll around!

People may see me just sitting there eating, but they don’t realize how much work goes into it. It really takes effort. And if it were as simple as just eating, a lot more people would be doing it—because it’s actually a great job. You’re your own boss, you don’t answer to anyone, and everyone’s gotta eat every day. So yeah, it’s a great gig to have.
Still, it’s not as easy as people think.

And one more thing—us social media influencers, we make it look easy. We do. A lot of people start doing this and they’re like, “Wow, y’all make it look so simple!” I say, “Yeah, we do.” But it takes a lot.
You’ve gotta keep going in this business, keep pushing forward, keep moving up—because people are always gonna talk. You can’t control that. Some people are dealing with their own issues and insecurities and try to project them onto you. And you’re sitting there like, “What did I even do?”

Thank God for therapy—it’s really helped me. Therapy and God both taught me how to handle things, how to keep moving forward, and how not to care about what others think. Whatever they’re going through personally has nothing to do with me—they’re just trying to, you know, throw it my way.
But it doesn’t matter, because you know what? So many of us in social media just keep going. Some people quit, some don’t—but a lot of us keep pushing, keep creating, because honestly, there’s nothing else you can do.

You can sit there worrying or talking about it all day long, but it won’t change a thing. They’ll still be there.
So yeah, that’s my job. I work hard just like everybody else. And not just me—every social media influencer out there. We make it look easy, but behind the scenes, it’s a lot of work and dedication.
