Hello everyone! I’m BLovesLife, and today I want to share with you a food experience I’ll never forget – my 10-pound King Crab that cost me $1200.
The Price Shock
To be honest with y’all, when I first decided to buy Curtis (that’s what I like to call my King Crab), the price was only $800. But by the time I checked out, it had jumped to $1200! I was really salty about it, but you know how it goes – when something goes viral or demand is high, the price goes up too. And even though my wallet was hurting, I still went ahead with it because I knew this was gonna be a special experience.

A Rough Start
At first, things didn’t go smoothly at all. Cracking into those crab legs was way harder than I expected. That first leg had me struggling and going back and forth trying to get it right. At one point I was like, “Come on Curtis, don’t do me like this!” But once I moved on to the second leg, things started to change. I got a little action going, and after that it was smooth sailing.
The Difference With Live King Crab
Now let me tell y’all – there is a huge difference between live King Crab and frozen. With frozen ones I’ve had before, the gelatin inside tends to harden and curdle. But with Curtis, everything stayed soft and silky, like jelly. That’s the mark of real freshness. And the meat? Pure white, sweet, and juicy. I had to say, “You can’t get it sweeter than this, baby!” My advice – when you get crab that sweet, close your eyes and just let the flavor take over.
Every Bite Counts
For $1200, you better believe I wasn’t letting a single piece go to waste. I dug into every corner, every little pocket of that shell. Some of those pieces were playing “catch me if you can” with me, but in the end, I got them all. I’ll never forget finding a big chunk in what they call the “kneecap.” I shouted, “We hit the jackpot, baby!” Because with that price, every bite feels like gold.
The Amazing Crab Roe
I can’t forget the six crab eggs I found in the meal. It had been a long time since I’d had crab roe, and when I tasted it again, it was like it was calling my name. Fresh crab eggs are rich, sweet, and when you pair them with hot sauce, it’s an unbeatable combo.
Conflicted Feelings
While eating, I had mixed emotions. Part of me wanted to keep it all to myself – too delicious, too expensive to share. If someone asked me for a piece, I’d be like, “No, I can’t, I can’t!” But another part of me wanted others to taste it too, just so they’d understand why I was raving about it. Because honestly, this was better than any meat you will ever taste, baby!
Small Struggles
It wasn’t all smooth though. The sharp shells cut my hand a little, and y’all know those tiny cuts sting bad when spicy sauce gets in. I felt that tingling right away. On top of that, I was worried if I was getting enough good footage for TikTok, and I even realized my cucumbers on the side were getting neglected.
Final Thoughts on the Experience
Even though $1200 is no small amount, I have to say – it was worth every penny. A live King Crab brings a whole different flavor and a “hit different” kind of vibe compared to frozen ones. I ate until my body told me I was full, but I still couldn’t stop because it was just that good. And like I promised y’all, I’ll be back for more King Crab – with cucumbers and crab roe too.
For anyone thinking about splurging on a live King Crab, my advice is: if you can, try it at least once. Some experiences in life are worth going out with a bang – and this is definitely one of them.
Remember, keep God first in everything you do, and don’t be afraid to invest in great food experiences. Peace, love, and hair grease, y’all!
P.S. Don’t forget the “lemon rain” and a good sauce. Trust me, it’s smack delicious!
