A Heartwarming Day with My Sweet Naomi

A Heartwarming Day with My Sweet Naomi

Today was one of those days that filled my heart to the brim with happiness — the kind of joy that stays with you long after the moment has passed. I finally got the chance to reunite with my sweet, precious little Naomi, and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped for and more. The second I saw her, my whole world lit up. There’s just something about her presence — so innocent, so vibrant, so full of life — that melts my heart every single time. I felt this overwhelming urge to scoop her up into the tightest hug and kiss her chubby cheeks over and over again. But, girl... I had to pause for a second and remember: I had just finished putting on my lipstick, and I didn’t want to mess up my face or get makeup all over her!

Naomi came with her beautiful mama, and seeing the two of them together genuinely warmed my soul. Watching a mother care for her daughter with so much love and dedication — it’s something that touches me deeply. I could see the bond they share just by the way they look at each other. It reminded me of how important it is to nurture, protect, and show up for the little ones in our lives.

Honestly, I’d been looking forward to this moment for quite some time. This trip wasn’t just something I threw together — I planned it with intention, with a heart full of excitement and love. My main goal? To see Naomi, spoil her a little, and take her out to buy some new clothes. I’ve been dreaming of this day, imagining how happy she’d be picking out outfits, twirling in front of the mirror, showing off her little personality through the things she wears. I just wanted to create a joyful memory that both of us could hold on to.

So we made our way to Ross, one of our favorite spots to find cute pieces without breaking the bank. I wanted her to pick out clothes that made her feel like the shining star she is — something fun, something comfy, something that would have her walking around with confidence. Seeing her little eyes light up as we walked through the store aisles, pointing at this dress or that sparkly top, was the sweetest thing. She has such a pure, natural sense of style already, and I love encouraging that in her.

One thing that really stood out to me today was how well Naomi’s mom has been taking care of her. You can see it in every little detail — especially in her hair. Her braids were so beautifully done, neat and stylish, and I couldn’t help but admire the care that went into it. Braiding like that? Whew, that takes time, love, and patience! I wish I could do her hair myself, but let’s be real — with these long nails, I’m barely able to run my fingers through it, let alone get into any intricate styles! I did try to help untangle a few knots at one point, but it wasn’t easy. Still, it made me laugh and smile because even those tiny struggles are part of the precious time we share together.

Being with Naomi today reminded me just how important it is to make time for the people we love, especially the little ones. They grow up so fast, and every chance we get to pour into them, to be present, to show them love and attention — that’s what truly matters. These are the moments that shape their memories, that help them feel safe and special and seen.

I left today feeling full — full of love, of gratitude, of appreciation for the little things. Naomi is such a blessing in my life, and spending time with her always brings out the softest, most joyful parts of me. I’m already looking forward to our next outing, our next laugh, our next hug that I will give — lipstick or not!
