Hello everyone! I'm Bloveslife, and today I want to share my trip to Jungle Jim's – one of the largest international supermarkets in Cincinnati, Ohio.
It’s actually already the afternoon, around 2 PM, but I really needed to take a little break. Like I mentioned yesterday, work has been a bit slow, and I truly needed that time to rest. We’ll be back at it on Monday. My outfit today is super simple: a t-shirt, jeans, Air Force Ones, and an orange jacket. Cute, right?
About Jungle Jim's
If you’ve never been to Cincinnati, Ohio, you absolutely have to visit Jungle Jim's. This place is a must-see because it has food from every country in the world. Seriously, anything you can’t find in regular stores, you can find here.
They have aisle after aisle filled with flavors and spices from places like South Africa, Australia, London… basically, everywhere. That’s why I love Jungle Jim's and everything they offer.
Shopping with Family
I’m planning to cook for my family tonight. I think they’re going to love what I make—it’s a dish they haven’t had before. I need to pick up some more meat. Actually, I’m looking for a cast-iron pot to cook tonight’s dish with chicken thighs. It’s kind of like gumbo, but not exactly. My version involves frying the chicken thighs before adding them to the pot.
Exploring the Store
Jungle Jim's has so many cool kitchen gadgets. They have Ohio-shaped ice trays that are super cute and only cost $5. They also have grill mats that let you flip food without worrying about it falling through the grates, priced at just $12.99. The quality is great, and they’re really sturdy.
One thing I love about Jungle Jim's is that everything is affordable. They offer a wide variety of spices and foods from all over the world at reasonable prices.
Discovering Unique Foods
I found some interesting items like spicy pickles—three jars for just $3, which is a great deal. They also have a huge selection of bread, including sourdough.
I also came across some butter, and for some reason, I’ve been craving butter lately. When your body craves something, it’s telling you something! A few days ago, I had some butter that was so rich and creamy, it almost tasted like cheese. I used to eat butter all the time, but it made me gain weight. I love eating it with tomatoes and onions—it’s so good.
Spices and Flavors
Jungle Jim's has an insane selection of spices. When I tell you they have everything, I mean it! They carry about 18 different types of ketchup, 20 to 30 different types of hot sauce, and just about every seasoning you could need.
I also explored the flavor extract section, where they have everything from maple, coffee, caramel, and butter to bourbon, pineapple, orange, and even jalapeño. They carry every type of jelly, every kind of cornbread, and every seasoning brand you can think of.
Wrapping Up the Trip
In the end, I decided to grab some sushi because I was getting hungry, and when I’m hungry, I start grabbing everything! I usually eat sushi in the evenings. Originally, I planned to cook spaghetti tomorrow, but since Darus said he’s going to cook, I don’t have to—how awesome is that?
