The Truth About the Numbers
I’m going to be completely honest with you. Right now, I weigh 193.8 pounds—yep, that’s almost 200 pounds! With my height of just 5 feet, you can probably imagine where I’m at. Yes, I am officially a plus-size woman now.
These days, I wear size XL, mostly because my hips and butt have gotten bigger. Sometimes I can still fit into a medium top since my waist isn’t super large yet, but it’s definitely not as small as it used to be.
The Journey of Change
Most of this weight gain happened last year. After that, my weight just stabilized—I didn’t gain more, I’ve just been maintaining. This has a lot to do with menopause, which I’m currently going through.
You know, not a lot of people talk about menopause and all the changes it brings—like sleepless nights, weight gain, and how much harder it becomes to lose weight. Our bodies shift in ways that we really can’t control.
Clearing Up About My Diet
Let me set the record straight for those who don’t really know me: my weight gain is NOT from the sauces I always make. I’ve been eating those for years, and they never made me gain weight before, because back then I ate low-carb.
The real shift started last year when I went plant-based and began eating more carbs—like oats and other things I didn’t use to eat much of before.
Learning to Accept It
You know what? I’ve decided to embrace this journey of becoming a plus-size woman. I call myself “thick thick thick”—full, curvy, and confident. Right now, I can’t do much about it, even though I don’t eat nearly as much as people might think.
I’ve actually been bigger than this before, so it’s not something brand-new to me. I’m okay with this weight gain. I just need time to adjust to wearing different clothing sizes and adapting to these changes.
The Message I Want to Share
I want people to see that you don’t have to be afraid of showing up as yourself. Let life flow naturally. I’m done trying to please everybody.
This is my journey, and I’m learning to embrace every moment of it, because I know this season will eventually pass. If someone can’t respect my journey, then that’s their problem, not mine.
Just watch—I’m going to prove that I can rock any style. This is my journey, and I’m proud of it.
