Hey y’all, it’s BLovesLife. Today, I’m speaking from a place of deep sorrow and reflection. I’ve debated whether or not to share this, but I believe Jada’s story deserves to be told — not just for her, but for every life lost to senseless v*iolence.
The Call That Changed Everything
It was around 3 or 4 a.m. when my phone rang. Half-asleep, I saw it was my sister Shannon. At first, I thought maybe she dialed me by mistake. But when the phone wouldn’t stop ringing, my stomach dropped. Something was wrong — and I knew it.
When I answered, I could hear the tremble in her voice. She said, “Jada’s gone.” Just like that. Our baby sister, only 27 years old, was gone — shot in the heart over an argument… about hair.

Jada Was More Than That Moment
Jada was our half-sister on Daddy’s side, but in our hearts, she was whole. We didn’t share the same roof growing up, but that bond — it was always there. She was a mother to three beautiful children: a 9-month-old baby, a 7-year-old, and a 4-year-old.
She poured her heart into her hair salon, Jazzy Extensions — a business named after another sister we tragically lost to gn violence at just 16. Now, their mother has to bury a second daughter. No parent should ever know that kind of pain twice.
How It All Unfolded
From what I’ve learned, a customer was unhappy with a hair appointment. Jada, being the person she was, said she’d handle it. “Don’t worry, I got you,” she told her. But the girl demanded an immediate refund.
That night, Jada and her fiancé were just trying to unwind. They stopped by a friend’s place — and somehow, that same customer ended up there too.
An argument flared. A fight broke out. And while Jada held her own, that girl pulled a g*un. Two shots — one straight to her chest. That’s how my sister’s life ended. Not in a hospital. Not with time to say goodbye. But over something that could’ve been resolved with grace and patience.
Finding Light in the Dark
One thing I’m grateful for is that I got to speak with Jada a few months before everything happened. We talked business, how she could grow on Instagram and YouTube, how proud I was of her for building something real. She was excited. She had plans. She had dreams.
I got to see her graduate, and I’ll never forget that smile. So bright, so full of life. She was walking into her future — not knowing how short that road would be.
Thank You — From the Bottom of My Heart
To everyone who reached out, sent prayers, messages, flowers, or simply held space for us during this unimaginable time — thank you. The love has been powerful. And it’s helped us breathe when the grief felt like it would drown us.
What Jada Taught Me
This loss has shifted something in me. I’ve decided to be more present, to call my siblings more often, to sit still with my family longer. We think we have time — but life doesn’t always wait.
Jada had a golden heart, a gentle strength, and a love for her kids that was unshakable. She deserved to see them grow. She deserved more birthdays, more memories, more everything.
Please — don’t let petty things become permanent scars. No disagreement should ever lead to v*iolence. No life should end over pride or impatience.
Hold your loved ones close tonight. Say what needs to be said. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
