Today’s Meal
I decided to treat myself to something special: Outback lobster tails served with eggs and corn. This was my main meal — actually, my only meal of the day since I hadn’t eaten anything since morning. About the Lobster Tails
Each lobster tail was about 3–4 ounces. They looked pretty big at first, but honestly, they’re quite small — like eating two jumbo shrimp combined. Still, lobster is always a luxury, a fancy treat you don’t get every day.
Price-wise, Outback sells them for around $12–$14.99 each. That’s a bit pricey for such a small portion, but that’s the cost of indulgence when it comes to lobster.
Different Types of Lobster
Just so you know, there are several types of lobsters — cold-water lobster, rock lobster, and more. Each has its own unique flavor. The ones I had today were incredibly tender — you can’t really mess them up. If cooked right, they’re never dry, always juicy and soft.
How I Cook and Enjoy Them
The best thing about lobster tails is how quick they cook — just a few minutes and they’re done perfectly.
I added some butter — the same butter that comes with the lobster. At first, I mixed it into my sauce, but I realized it caused the sauce to separate. Normally, I don’t use that much butter, but today they gave me ten packets, so I used them all… and yes, it definitely separated quite a bit.
A little tip for you: always add lemon to your lobster! For me, that’s the perfect combo — the lemon really brings the flavor to life.
How to Tell When Lobster Is Cooked
To know if your lobster is done, look at the shell. When it’s perfectly cooked, it turns a bright pink or red color. If it’s still brownish or uneven in color, it’s not quite ready yet. Two of mine today looked a little undercooked — kind of “wobbly,” as I like to say — so I saved them for later. Don’t worry, I didn’t throw them away! I’ll just reheat them another time.
Final Thoughts
I had ten lobster tails in total today, and I actually managed to eat eight of them. It was such a delicious, satisfying meal. Outback lobster tails never disappoint — they’re always tender, flavorful, and totally worth it.
