Hello everyone! I’m Blove, and this is the story of a very special trip to Arizona during Mother’s Day week with my son, Darius.
The Start of the Adventure
When I turned on the camera inside this cozy little room in Arizona, I couldn’t help but feel excited. Darius was here with me – my son, the one I love the most in this world. The room was small but warm, with a cute little mirror and a door that opened to a porch with a beautiful view.
“Darius, be quiet for a second!” I laughed as he kept making noise. It’s funny to think that he’s been to Hawaii before but still hasn’t figured out how to cooperate when filming videos with his mom.
Peaceful Moments
We sat in front of the small mirror, looking at how we appeared on camera together. “Shoot, I look crazy!” I laughed at my own reflection. But honestly, those natural, unfiltered moments are exactly what I want to capture and keep.
Sitting out on the porch, staring at the rocks, I was reminded of the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once – especially the final scene with the two rocks. Darius said he thought the movie was terrible, while I thought it was great. Those little debates between mother and son are what make these moments so sweet.
A Mother’s Feelings
“Y’all, I’m gonna let you go and try to vlog a little here,” I said to the camera. This was going to be my Arizona vlog for Mother’s Day week with Darius. Looking in the mirror, I noticed I looked a little tired. Not surprising – it was only 5 PM here, but back home it was already 8 PM.
Still, that tiredness couldn’t dim the joy in my heart. Being here with Darius on such a special occasion truly felt like a gift.
Sweet Memories
“I remember these days,” I thought quietly as I looked at Darius. The days when we can spend time together like this are becoming fewer as he grows older. Watching him sit there, laughing at the TV, I realized these are the little things I’ll hold onto forever.
New Experiences
We tried so many new things on this trip. From kosher food (not vegan, though) to fun conversations. “Is the camera on me?” I asked, just wanting to make sure I was capturing exactly what I wanted.
Sometimes I’d joke around saying, “Hi, I’m president,” just to add a little fun to the video. Those small, silly moments are what make the trip unforgettable.
Plans Ahead
“Me and my husband’s going to be on our way to loving school fools to go getting something to eat,” I said while talking about our next plan. Yes, we were hungry – well, I was very hungry, but I wouldn’t say “starving.”
The funny thing is, this was actually “parents week two,” and in the fall it will be parents weekend. We come here every semester. It’s a tradition my family has always cherished.
Closing Thoughts
As I wrapped up the video, I wanted to send a message to all the parents out there: treasure every single moment with your children. Trips like this, little conversations, bursts of laughter – they all become priceless memories.
“Beat love, beat love, beat love” – that’s how I ended it, with all the love in my heart for my son and for all of you who joined us on this journey.
