It’s Been Over Two Months Since Lips Passed — But Honestly, It Still Feels Like Yesterday.
Some people still haven’t heard the news. Others have been asking, “What happened to Lips?” And there are folks who’ve stayed quiet because they just don’t know what to say. I stayed quiet too, not because I didn’t care — but because I needed time to process it.
Lips passed away on April 17th.

From what I’ve read, the incident involved someone he was in a relationship with. Things are still under investigation. There’s been no trial, no verdict. Everything right now is still alleged. I’m not here to speak on the legal side of it. I’m just sharing what I know, and how I feel.
Lips and I had a real conversation not long after his heart attack. He was still recovering, but his spirit was strong. He was messaging, sending birthday wishes, laughing, creating — still being Lips. Everything felt normal… until it wasn’t.
I remember exactly how I felt when I got the news. I was at the mall with Darius. The message came through and I froze. I had to sit down. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t wrap my head around it. Even now, I still can’t.
Lips wasn’t flashy. But if you ever watched his videos, you remember his laugh, that little theme song, the way he talked like he was sitting down having dinner with you. That’s what made people stick around — the realness, the warmth, the connection. He didn’t just eat well. He made you feel welcome.
I’m not writing this for attention. I don’t want pity. I just want to acknowledge Lips for who he was — someone who lived honestly, contributed something real to this community, and did it his own way.
If you’ve ever watched one of his videos, laughed at something he said, or dropped a comment under one of his posts — take a moment today and share something you remember about him. Keep it simple. Keep it honest.
Thank you, Lips — for everything you gave us. No drama, no performance — just real value.
Rest easy, brother.
