Hey friends! I’m beyond excited to share a slice of paradise with you—my recent trip to Maui, a truly unforgettable birthday gift. From the moment we took off on our 10-hour flight aboard Delta One, I knew this experience would be something special. They spoiled us with all the essentials—slippers, toothbrushes, soft pillows, and cozy blankets—but I still packed my favorite oversized throw for extra comfort. As always, we opted for vegetarian meals in advance, which turned out to be a great decision.

We touched down in Honolulu to warm, humid air hovering around 80°F. After 12–13 hours masked up, peeling it off felt like a breath of freedom. Surprisingly, the long-haul flight wasn’t bad—we managed to get some rest. The real challenge, I know, will be the trip back: no Delta One, multiple transfers, and several five-hour flights. But for now, I’m soaking up every minute here.
Hawaii is six hours behind Cincinnati, so adjusting our internal clocks took a minute. When it’s bedtime back home, the sun’s still glowing here. We have nine full days in this tropical dream, and I intend to make every one of them count.
The moment we arrived, we were welcomed with fresh flower leis that smelled divine. Our resort? Absolutely stunning. Our room opens to a panoramic ocean view that makes you pause, breathe, and just be. The stillness here is unmatched—it’s a place for meditation, prayer, and total relaxation.
Mornings begin with barefoot strolls along the shoreline, followed by breezy breakfasts overlooking the water. The temperature sits perfectly between 75–76°F—ideal for walking, a bit brisk for a swim, but still perfect for the soul.
One of the most touching moments was my birthday celebration. We attended a traditional Hawaiian luau, where I was gifted a sweet little pink lock and its key. It was symbolic, thoughtful, and completely unexpected—an emotional highlight of the day.
But the true showstopper? A helicopter tour over the island’s waterfalls. Soaring above lush green cliffs and cascading waters, I felt overwhelmed by the majesty of creation. We even touched down on a neighboring island—an experience I’ll never forget. That flight alone made this trip the most magical one of my life.
Of course, a trip isn’t complete without a little style. I stuck with my go-to wardrobe: outfits from Chico’s and comfy shoes from Amazon. I love them so much, I’ve bought them in every color. Sharing my outfit-of-the-day is a little joy I look forward to on trips like these.
More than anything, this journey has filled me with gratitude. Time away from the noise, good food, a stunning location, and quality moments with my husband—it’s everything I needed and more. Celebrating my birthday here felt like a dream I never wanted to wake up from. 🌺
