Hey y’all – today we’re talking about wings. But not just any wings. We’re talking crispy, juicy honey lemon pepper wings, packed with bold seasoning, fried to golden perfection, and finished with a luscious homemade ranch and blue cheese dip.
Let’s start with the dip, because this one is a show-stealer. Whenever I eat out, I have to ask for both ranch and blue cheese. So at home, I thought – why not marry the two? I mix mayonnaise and sour cream for the base, then add about two tablespoons of ranch seasoning and 2–3 tablespoons of crumbled blue cheese. The result? A rich, creamy, tangy dip that’s thick enough to hug every bite of wing.
Now for the wings themselves: I’m working with about 1.5 pounds of chicken wings. They’re seasoned with:
-
1 packet of Sazón or seasoning salt
-
2 teaspoons onion powder
-
2 teaspoons garlic powder
-
2 teaspoons Old Bay or your favorite spice blend
-
2 teaspoons lemon pepper
-
1 egg for binding
For the breading, I combine 2/3 cup all-purpose flour with 1/3 cup cornstarch – that’s the secret to the extra crispy crust. Then I mix in 2 tablespoons of the ranch dip powder and a tablespoon of lemon pepper seasoning for an extra flavor boost. Toss the wings thoroughly in the flour mixture, making sure they’re evenly and tightly coated.

Let them rest for about 10 minutes to let that breading stick. Meanwhile, heat peanut oil to 365°F. Fry the wings for 8–10 minutes – or longer if you like them extra crispy like I do (10–12 minutes is my sweet spot).
While the wings are frying, let’s whip up that honey lemon glaze:
Melt half a stick of butter, stir in 1/3 cup honey and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Simple, sweet, and bright.
Once your wings are done and golden, drizzle that glaze over the top. Finish with a light dusting of ranch seasoning – not too salty, just enough to enhance every bite.
The meat pulls clean off the bone, y’all. The flavor? Next level. I haven’t even dipped them yet, and they’re already packed with layers – buttery, zesty, savory. But once you swipe it through that creamy ranch-blue cheese dip?
Game over.
Make these for your next game day or family get-together – I guarantee you’ll have people licking their fingers and asking for the recipe. Yes ma’am. Yes sir. So. Dang. Good.
