Hey my lovely people! Today I’m so excited to share with you my recipe for Alfredo King Crab Boil – a truly mouthwatering dish that I featured in my Bell’s Palsy Awareness Challenge video. Y’all, this one is so good you won’t be able to stop eating!
Inspiration
Let me start off by saying – this idea wasn’t mine originally. I actually got inspired by Sauce Queen – and let me tell you, she’s truly the queen of sauces! A few months ago, she made an Alfredo Boil, and the moment I saw it I thought, “Oh my goodness, I’ve got to try that!” So if you enjoy this dish, make sure to check out Sauce Queen’s channel for more of her amazing sauce recipes!

Ingredients You’ll Need
Main Ingredients:
-
King crab meat (pre-shelled) – I bought the pre-shelled kind, about $18 for a pack of five big pieces. Trust me, it’s a total time-saver! No more struggling with crab shells!
-
Corn on the cob – cut into chunks
-
Potatoes – cut in half so they cook and soak up flavor better
-
Boiled eggs – for extra protein and creaminess
Vegetables:
-
Bell peppers – I used both green and red for that nice color mix
-
Onion – I forgot which kind, but it was the large one I diced up
-
Chives – to sprinkle on top for that fresh aroma and pop of green
-
Mushrooms – I totally forgot to add them this time, but y’all don’t skip them!
-
Spinach – another one I’ll definitely add next time, it would taste amazing
Sauce and Seasonings:
-
3–4 jars of Alfredo sauce – the star of the show!
-
Butter – for sautéing veggies
-
Minced garlic – a must for that rich aroma
-
Heavy cream – just a splash
-
Milk – just a little
-
Mozzarella cheese – lots of it!
-
Garlic powder
-
Onion powder
-
Salt
-
Red pepper flakes – for a light spicy kick
-
Black pepper
-
All-season seasoning – adjust to your taste
-
2 tablespoons of sugar – yes, sugar! It balances out the flavors beautifully
Toppings:
-
Bacon bits – I used real cooked bacon, not the dry kind!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients
Get everything ready first – once you start cooking, things move fast.
-
Wash all veggies
-
Dice onions and cut bell peppers
-
Halve the potatoes and corn
-
Mince your garlic
-
Boil your eggs ahead of time
-
Chop bacon if using whole strips
Step 2: Sauté the Veggies
This step builds the flavor base of your dish!
Melt butter in a large skillet or pot. I like using a generous amount – it makes everything so rich and flavorful. Once melted, add onions and sauté until soft and fragrant. Then toss in the bell peppers (green and red) and cook for a few more minutes until they soften slightly but stay crisp.
Note: Don’t forget the mushrooms like I did! Sautéing them with butter, onions, and peppers gives an incredible depth of flavor.
Step 3: Add Garlic and Seasonings
When your veggies are almost done, add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1–2 minutes – don’t burn it or it’ll taste bitter. Then season with:
-
Garlic powder
-
Onion powder
-
All-season blend
-
Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (optional)
Mix well so all the veggies are evenly coated.
Step 4: Make the Alfredo Sauce
Now comes the best part – the creamy Alfredo sauce!
Remember: only add a little heavy cream and milk, because we don’t want a runny sauce. Aim for a thick, velvety texture that coats every piece of crab and potato.
Approximate measurements:
-
¼ to ⅓ cup heavy cream
-
¼ to ⅓ cup milk
Stir the cream and milk together over medium heat, then add your 3–4 jars of Alfredo sauce. If the sauce gets too thin, that fourth jar will help thicken it back up – my little secret trick! Stir well until the sauce is smooth and fully combined.
Step 5: Add Sugar – The Secret Ingredient!
Yup, 2 tablespoons of sugar. It doesn’t make your sauce sweet; it simply balances the flavors and gives the sauce a richer, rounder taste. You won’t taste sugar, but you’ll feel the harmony in every bite.
Step 6: Add Mozzarella Cheese
Time for that cheesy magic! Gradually add mozzarella while stirring. It’ll melt beautifully, making the sauce thicker, creamier, and oh-so-delicious.
Step 7: Add the Main Ingredients
Now, gently add in your:
-
King crab meat
-
Corn
-
Potatoes (pre-boiled or steamed)
-
Boiled eggs (halved or whole)
Mix carefully so you don’t break the crab pieces. Simmer for about 5–10 minutes on low heat to let everything soak up that Alfredo goodness.
Step 8: Garnish and Serve
Transfer everything to a big platter or tray. Top it off with:
-
Chopped chives
-
Crispy bacon bits
Just look at that color palette – creamy white sauce, orange-red crab, golden corn, green herbs, and brown bacon. It’s pure beauty!
Important Tips
-
Sauce Thickness – Don’t overdo the cream and milk! Too much and it gets watery. If it happens, add more Alfredo sauce or mozzarella to thicken it back up.
-
Crab Meat – Pre-shelled king crab saves you time and effort. Yes, it’s pricier ($18 for 5 big pieces), but totally worth it.
-
Veggies – Don’t skip the mushrooms and spinach next time. They’ll add extra flavor, texture, and nutrition.
-
Seasonings – Make it your own!
-
Want it spicier? Add more red pepper flakes.
-
Want it richer? Add more cheese or butter.
-
Love garlic? Go ahead and double it up!
-
-
Serving Suggestions – Best served hot! Alfredo sauce thickens as it cools, so if reheating, add a splash of milk. Serve it with:
-
Fettuccine noodles – classic combo!
-
Crusty baguette – perfect for dipping
-
A light salad – to balance out the richness
-
The Eating Experience
Every bite of this dish is pure heaven!
-
The crab meat is tender, sweet, and rich with Alfredo flavor.
-
The potatoes soak up the sauce like a loaded baked potato – creamy, cheesy, smoky from bacon, with that little crunch from chives.
-
The corn brings natural sweetness that balances the sauce perfectly.
-
The eggs add silkiness when their yolks mix into the creamy sauce.
-
The bell peppers and onions bring freshness and keep it from feeling too heavy.
-
And the mozzarella? Stretchy, gooey perfection that ties everything together!
Final Thoughts
This Alfredo King Crab Boil is one of my absolute favorites. It’s creamy but not overwhelming, flavorful but balanced, and simply irresistible. Every bite feels like comfort and celebration combined!
It’s also super beginner-friendly – as long as you remember to:
-
Sauté your veggies well
-
Go light on cream and milk
-
Add enough cheese
-
And always balance flavors with a little sugar
But most importantly – cook with love! I always believe that when you cook with love, it shows in the flavor.
