Hey everyone, I’m beyond excited to share some amazing news with you that fills my heart with gratitude. After all the ups and downs, my sister is officially cancer-free! This is undoubtedly the best news of the year, and it’s a moment we’ve been waiting for. It’s something that I’m truly thankful for, and I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with joy.
With the Fourth of July right around the corner, this year’s celebration is going to be extra special. Not only will we be celebrating our country’s independence, but we’ll also be celebrating my sister’s incredible recovery. It’s a moment we’ll cherish forever, and it’s a reminder of how strong and resilient she is. The excitement around the party has been palpable. People have been asking me non-stop, “When’s the party? Where’s it happening? What time should we come?” It’s going to be a big bash to honor her strength, and trust me, it will be one for the books.
As a gesture of love, I’ve been thinking about a special gift to commemorate her victory over cancer. I know there are lots of meaningful options out there, like a “Cancer-Free” T-shirt or even a commemorative mug. I want something that’ll remind her of how far she’s come and the hard-fought battle she won. I’m planning to get it ready for when she stays with us during the party weekend. I also want to make sure we celebrate the exact day she was declared cancer-free, because that day holds so much significance for all of us. It’s a huge milestone, and we want to honor it properly.
Right now, she’s still recovering from surgery, specifically a mastectomy, and although she’s doing well, the recovery process can be draining. The doctors did a miraculous job, though. They not only removed her old breast tissue but also gave her a completely new set of breasts. What’s more amazing is how they used fat from her belly—yes, the same fat that naturally accumulates around our stomachs—to help fill and reshape her chest area. It’s incredible because she’s essentially gotten a fresh start, with a new set of breasts and a flatter belly all in one go. It’s like a little “mommy makeover” in the best possible way.
But it wasn’t all simple. The surgery was incredibly complex and required a lot of precision. She just got out of the hospital last week, and since then, we’ve been keeping in touch via text. Post-surgery, people are understandably exhausted and not in the mood for long conversations, so I’ve been giving her space to rest and heal. At first, I thought about flying out to visit her, but we both agreed it wouldn’t be the best time right now since she’s still recovering. We’re planning to meet up during Labor Day this year instead. I had planned a trip last year but had to cancel, so this time, it’s going to happen. By then, she’ll be feeling much better, and we’ll be able to catch up properly.
I’m so incredibly proud of her. Not only is she recovering physically, but she’s also staying vigilant in her health. She’s been taking various natural supplements, like sour sauce bitters, black seed bitters, and apricot kernels, to help with prevention. I encourage everyone to do the same. As much as we might not want to admit it, we’re all exposed to pollutants in the air, the water, and even in the products we use daily. I’ve shared before that areas by the coast tend to have higher pollution rates, and in Ohio, we rank quite high in pollution—both in the air and in the water we drink.

This is why I’ve become so proactive about prevention. For years, I didn’t realize how much our environment could affect our health. The air we breathe, the plastic bottles we use, and even the makeup and hair products we apply—everything has an impact. I’m even considering switching from plastic to other materials, as plastic seems to be everywhere, from the products we use on our faces to the food packaging we deal with. This is why I’ve been so intentional about eating foods that support my body in flushing out toxins rather than accumulating them.
It’s been an eye-opener, and I’m more determined than ever to take care of myself and those I love. We can never be too cautious when it comes to our health, and I encourage everyone to take the necessary steps to protect yourself from the toxins around us.
